what did you go with for tires..This will be my first winter and its a must out hear Boston way. I can only see maybe 2 options, Blizzaks or Hankook icebears which got terrible reviews.
plus..it seems just the rears alone will go for 500 a pair.

I was thinking of doing narrower steel rims to open up some options

Nice and very touching pic Riski. It made we go outside in 20 degree snowy weather to hug and tuck-in my 03 STR. Excuse me JimC64, do ya know the racked lady with white letter'ed t-shirt in your AVATAR? No offence...but I can't stop thinking that she's looking my way? Please advize.

Default 3 lb pulley

Riski, I'm ordering the 3 lb pulley. Where did ya git yours and did it come with a "dummy" pulley to help gauge the area to grind around the nose? If not, how much in millimeters to grind? I read in the XJR or XKR forum between 4-5 mm? Did ya need a smaller belt? Finally, do ya think I'll feel a noticeable difference over my 1.5 pulley? The average yearly outside temp. she'll be runnin in is 75 degrees (mid-eastern NY) and have a low temp thermo....Any heat soak in daily driving chores (normal to street dukeing it out action)?

I ran W300 Icebears for 4 winters on my X type. I thought they were great winter tires fro the money. They even wore pretty even, and that's saying something when on the X type. Grip was great but of course that's AWD so I don't know about comparing that to the S type.

Yes it came with the dummy pulley, order mine from Pheonix Coach works.....Big notice in power increase, but when hot, heat soaked, thus the juice
I did not measure the grinding, just worked it over lil by lil til it cleared

Oh and have fun getting the stock pulley off if your gonna try, I just cut mine off.....

Riski, I already cut off the stock pulley to install the 1.5 lb Mina Galleries pulley. I'm prayin the aluminum 1.5 pulley will pull off instead of cut-off.
