I won the lottery (DCCV & CCM)!
My coolant (2005 S-Type 3.0 "Gwendolyn") was low back during the winter, so I took it into the dealer. They said my DCCV was leaking, and said it would be about $650. I called an independent Jag shop, and they quoted about $300. I scheduled an appointment with the independent, but then a snow storm hit, and I couldn't get it in. Then I got busy, and never got around to taking it in. Last week Gwendolyn started having constant heat. The weather was now good enough, and I had read enough about it, that I thought I would give changing it myself a shot. Ordered from Amazon for $85. Thanks for all the information everyone has posted on how to do this. I couldn't have done it without all the information, pictures, and documents. However, after changing the DCCV, I still had constant heat coming out the vents. So I checked the fuses. They were fine. Then I checked the Temperature Evaporator Sensors. They were fine. Then I reluctantly checked my most dreaded fear, the Climate Control Module (CCM Non-Nav). There was an obvious burned out line from one pad to another. I didn't feel comfortable soldering that myself, so I took it to a local computer shop that fixes DC ports on laptops. They were able to solder a wire between the pads, and that worked! The check engine light was on while the CCM was removed. After I re-installed the CCM, the check engine light stayed on, but went out after a few engine start/stop cycles.
I'm in the exact same boat. I was thinking of sending the climate control module to jaguarclimatecontrol.com. I guess I can try it out myself first. I had the dealer do a diagnostic and they told me that the DCCV failed and the it burnt the CCM
If I can resolder the board on a broken Sega Genesis to relive my childhood youth I think I could handle the CCM. If you dont have it fixed by then I'll throw my soldering iron in the trunk and we can see what we can do at the meet.
