Inner fender leaf trap
Wife let a drunk guy drive her car, he scraped a tree and got the passenger mirror and front fender, so I pulled the inner fender to pound it out. Found a leaf clog at the back where the firewall and right side engine compartment sidewall meet at the bottom. You can't see it from the engine compartment (maybe with a mirror?) Using pliers and fingers I got all of it out, was quite a bit in there.

Good find. Porsche 911s of my era are well known for rusting out due to just that kind of thing. Of course they don't have fender liners, but still, all that stuff will cause rust problems.
Not sure..but this may be the bottom side of pocket of leaves I found in my wife's 05 when doing the IMT O-rings. I had pulled the cabin filter to vacuum the leaves out of it (it's still fairly new) and noticed a soft bed of leaves in the corner under the cabin filter housing. I got 'em out by alternately clogging the shop-vac nozzle, then picking them off, then repeat.....Sorry, didn't think to take pics.
Leaves can cause trouble for sure. I had a Boxster, and found that the water drains below the windshield were plugged with leaves, and it holds a lot of water and crud. Another rust hole waiting to happen.
Cap is covering the main battery lead that runs from the back of the car underneath to the front.

And, he reminds her of another young man she knew...If you believe that,
I've got a bridge over the Florida keys I can sell ya real cheap. Oh yeah,
I have some of Bernie Madoff's investments and some Enron stock I can
make ya a good deal on...
Just kidding. It's a great post. Diagonally across the county from ya,
we have the damnable pine needle menace. I always knew those
suckers were going somewhere, now I know. Time to remove the wheel
and fender shield. Thanks.

The red cap is a cover on the positive remote battery post. I still can't figure out why Jaguar hides it under the wheel well liner? How in the heck are you suppose to access the post? It’s a pain to remove this liner and there is no telling where you will be when the battery goes dead.
