I have a 2007 2.7tdi S Type and the interior beeper for door open, indicators, front parking sensors and whatever is not working. Can anyone tell me where it is please. Have removed the steering wheel cowl and around ignition key barrel. Am I looking in the correct place? Any pointers welcomed. Thank you in advance. Best regards, Phil

 

Not sure about the later models, but on my ‘02, the sounds come from the instrument cluster. This includes the various chimes and even the clicking sound effect for the turn signals.

Be careful if you need to replace it. The instrument cluster is the heart of the security system. Dealer-level programming is required when replaced.

 

As above it is in the main instrument cluster that is electronically paired to the main ECU and as far as I know it will disable your car if it is changed for one from another car.

It may not be the sounder that is at fault.
I think that if there is a constant fault or signal to the sounder it will time out and then not activate again for any other sound until the first one is cleared. But I may be wrong about this???You could try a hard re-set, i.e. battery disconnect, but this may cause more problems than is solves!!

Thank you both so much. At least I know where to look now. The front parking sensors worked when I originally bought the car but I have never heard indicator or door open sounds at all. I'll risk a hard reset as the battery will be disconnected when I have the sills tidied up. In for a penny as they say. Cheers
