Default Interior Color (SEL), But Steering wheel color question.

Have 05 S type red exterior and SEL interior. Have gotten a leather restore kit that matches perfectly the seats and is super to use.It can be used for worn steering wheels.- however I am trying to convey the color- which I call mocha-. Does Jag have an official name for the color?

FYI- here is the link to Ronn with seat restore- works great and perfect in match:

Thanks

Hi Tom; I'm unable to spend time on it now as I must rush but . . . somewhere in Stickies, there is a chart (Perhaps posted by GGG in the FAQ section) or try among the files on Gus' excellent JagRepair.com.

Mocha is definitely a Jaguar interior colour, which in my 07 S-Type, is the carpet colour teamed with Cashmere seats. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ken

I have all the factory 2005 sales literature.

They list Ivory which is very much white so I think what you are looking for is called Champagne.

Thanks. That part I know and from the dealer "Barley and Champagne are in fact the same color. Jaguar changed the name, but trim code stayed the same, SEL. As far as number code, Jaguar only uses the letter system SEL"

However I am not looking for the color of the seat, but the color of the dash, trim and in specific (although it is the same as the other 2) the steering wheel.

Jag calls it mocha, but that is a mixed bag for matching and was truing to nail down any specifics that would help in matching the leather code for that color.

The colour SEL refers to the "Barley" - previously "Champagne" as noted.
The colour you seek is "Mocha" which could be described as a soft chocolate colour.
Here is an excerpt of the Jaguar factory build sheet for my 2007 S-Type . . .

Trim Details

Trim : Barley
Paint : Liquid Silver .

Trim Items:
Bond grain Leather Seat
Mocha/Barley Facia
Barley Headlining
Mocha Carpet
Twin Needle Stitching
Mocha Seatbelts
Barley Main Cabin Colour
Barley Stitching
Bronze Sapelle Pommelle Veneer

As you may have noted on your car, I think mine only includes the paint and main trim codes on the Vehicle ID plate . . . with no reference to the "Mocha" trim accents. But, as the above listing and my pic shows, these are substantial. Poor light made photographing the ID plate impossible tonight. I will check during daylight and re-post an update tomorrow.

Cheers

Ken:

Thanks much. I got the seat restore guy to send me a a number of samples and he got it nailed on one. From his code it is #590 and in the sunlight matches perfectly.

Thanks
