Help! So far we have fixed a couple of problems with our Jaguar on our own. From the day we purchased the car we have a beeping that goes on for at least 3-4 minutes after starting the car. We are seat belted. Any clues as to why this beeping is happening??

Yes, if your car is like mine, that will be the initialization of your back-up sensor. It is normal.

You should also have a button on your over-head console (rear-right, I think) that disables the back-up sensor. It is useful for when you take the car through the car wash since the sensor will "see" the car wash and will beep until you drive out the exit.

I think the OP has an early S-type, pre-face lift.

My '03 does not beep at any time except when in reverse and in range of an obstacle. No override button also.

Maybe do a search on 'beeping noise', I remember this happening here once or twice before.
