Default Jaguar S Type Mods

Hey Guys,

I just got my jaguar s type last week. Its an '04 model 4.2V8. Its been a blast so far! However, I am a teenager so I want to do some mods on it(not anything drastic). I really like the tail clusters on the S Type Rs(very modern) and I was wondering if I could possibly switch out my taillights for those. Also, very random, but my car is missing the lids for the vanity mirrors. Anywhere I can find them? the part seems so obscure google isnt helping out

Welcome and congrats for you and your 04 4.2. The vanity mirrors with lids (not lids alone) can be had by contacting: "Jaguar Heaven" and "Coventry West". There are some engine mods I can convey if you wish.

Default 4.2 build up

Drop in a K&N airfilter into the stock airbox, drop in a low temp. thermostat (Eurotoys), pop on a low restriciton air intake elbow, pop on Magnaflow 2 1/4" "spun" hi-flow cats and 2 1/4" Magnaflow x-pipe, maintain stock 2 1/4" pipe, replace stock resonator with a pair of 14" Walker glass packed tube mufflers, maintain stock 2 1/4" pipe leading to a pair of Walker Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers, barking out of a pair of Flowmaster 4" s/s tips. Perform a "Hard Reset" of the ECU. This set up will likely yield you close to 25 hp and 30 lb/ft trq. (325 hp @ 335 lb/ft trq.).

Default thanks

this guy^^^ dayummm, u are the man! loll forreal thanks for all the ideas... but with all this exhaust, muffler switchouts, does it make the car a lot noisier? cuz i dont wanna be like a punk teen ricer loll, i wanna be able to have the power quiet and understated, but growling when needed

also, all your mods seem fine(of course expensive, but thats understandable) but im kinda apprehensive bout the hard ecu reset(didnt jags used to have electrical probs and then they fixed em? cuz i dont want that scenario to repeat in my car lol)... ur thoughts?

thanks again

jaguarastic, she'll start with a slight authoritive growl, purr a deeper tone at idle, bark just a bit upon acceleration, reasonably quiet during cruise. The 14" Walker glass packed flow through pre-mufflers ( I run 12") slow down the exhaust gases making for a quieter note. You can taylor the note by manipulating the length of the glass packs without affecting overall performance i.e., longer/shorter the tube mufflers the quieter/louder she gets.
