Default Jaguar Voice Add-on

I've been reading through the forums and have determined that it's possible to add Jaguar Voice to my 06 STR as it seems it is listed as a dealer installable option. I already have Bluetooth and Nav, so most of what's needed should already be there. What I've not found is a part number, and if it's owner installable.. I do have an ASC Master Tech in the family, so can work on it in a service bay with him.

Is there a Part Number for the JV add-on?
And,are the steps that ONLY a Jag dealer can perform (maybe Software updates)?

Try the forum stickies (the jag downloadable stuff). It may be:

You might want to check the installed price. I think it's pretty pricey. All of these Jag add-on features are wallet soakers. It seems that there are aftermarket alternstives that while not exact replacements might make better sense now as a lot of this stuff is a very old technology now. Just my 2 cents after investigating this for a couple of weeks.

I fully agree. Jaguar Voice is ancient technology now and would not be worth anything remotely close to the money you would spend to implement it....

I've never even looked at it's functionality but it would be nice to have the full integration with all the oem stuff. Just too expensive and when was it designed back in the late 1990s then updated?

Maybe you could get the stuff cheap via a junjyard but given the list price of the stuff which I think is still available from the dealer the junkyard probably wants a lot of money too.

I added it to my 05 S-Type. There were two parts....the module itself and a cable....assuming you have BT and nav.

It was user installable. I didn't but I could have. With no garage and in the dead of winter, no thanks. Parts and labor was about $800 with labor charge of about 1 hour.

I love it. In fact, I have plans to have it moved to my next S-Type when I but it.

It was covered in the Jaguar accessories catalog. This was available from the US Jaguar site. However, since the S-type is out of production, you'll need to ask for one as all the website covers are the current models.

I have Nav but not BT so this might be more expensive and difficult for my car. My car wasn't prewired for BT either which I understand may be an issue?
