Default Just the drivers floor mat.

If anyone else is like me a heavy user of drivers floor mats?
I found this seller on eBay UK who just sells the drivers door mat for a few Jaguar models.
I have bought the Stage 1 grade of mat and it is very good quality although maybe a little thinner than I
would have liked. The Stage 3 might be better.
Saves buying a set of 4 mats every time the drivers mat looks tatty.

The stage 1 has held its shape so far and if it gets a bit curled up when I get out it goes back to its shape very quickly. As I said it does seem a little thin but the quality is certainly there. But I am a hard user on some things as a result of my limited mobility. But I'm impressed so far.

thanks for the review, it helps a lot. I am a big guy with a bad back. 6ft 5 in 275 lbs. I have to slide in and out and always move the mat..I push off the floorboard to get started out of the seat....I do not want to put extra stress on the steering column and the mat takes the brunt force of it of course......but I would not give up this race car for anything, if you know what I mean, and I am sure you do

I know exactly where you're coming from.
Yeah me too, I've had to work out my own technique for getting in and out of the car but thats from the drivers seat.
Now since my little lady loves driving this beautiful car, that's created a new situation for me in that she really wants to drive !!! She loves driving this car.
If we could afford the running costs we would have an STR no question.
But for me getting in and out of the passenger seat is a whole new science.
Both of us have the most physical damage on our left hand sides. So getting in and out of the passenger seat using my left leg is a new voyage of discovery.
I've got massive imbalance left to right in the pelvis and whole spine. I'm not going into details because people don't need to know and wouldn't want to know.
For me to get in the drivers seat, I stand with the door wide open if poss and perpendicular to the side of the car facing away.
I then lower my bum into the car with both of my elbows out sideways to use as brakes for a controlled entry. Sounds like NASA hu?
As I lower myself in, I put my left foot out behind me so that can go straight in the left hand side of the footwell as I lower my body into the seat turning at the
same time to face the front. Its not a matter of not having the strength its that my spinal and pelvic motor control is poor. I lack control and coordination.
Combined spinal damage and a brain injury are two of the causes. Degenerative scoliosis and a spinal stroke are two more. But there are more in addition to those.
BTW.
Access through the left hand door is fun and games !

That's why I like motorcycles because they are by and large a solo experience.

Same can be said about pickup trucks. Easier to climb up into the seat, rather than the bend and fall into one. Driver floor mat practically disintegrated and seat bolster takes a beating.

Workaround was to get an aftermarket metal plate with the Jaguar logo on it, and screw it onto the mat, which nicely covers the worn-through section. Rest is still in good shape, and cleans up nicely. I chose that route after reading here that aftermarket mats, advertised as laser-cut for a perfect fit, really weren't.

Yes some of the floor mats I've had and I think tailor made for what?
The shapes and sizes for tailor made for mine have varied a lot.

There is nothing more that I would like than a proper truck.
There used to be a lot of trucks on the UK road due to a company car tax dodge which meant they were worth having.
The loophole got closed up soon enough so we don't see anywhere near as many now.
I did try out a Dodge RAM Rumble bee 10 years ago but it wouldn't be safe here at home. Would have been a laugh though.
Its a smart policy not to be noticed here in the UK. So I bought a sleeper sedan car instead. Debadged and dechromed BMW 545 Se V8 all in black.

Not the best vehicle to attempt your goal of becoming Mr. Stealth (You're there, but we can't see you) - that kidney grille is a dead giveaway. You can hide in plain sight in a Ford car. No one is looking at those! Now, a Ford F-150? Best selling truck in the US for about 50 years running. You can't hide in one of those, but you can sure blend in!!!!

Pickups are uniquely styled, unlike many copycat motor cars.

BMW's and Mercedes are so common here. They are the new Vauxhall Cavalier sales reps car. Although they are given Merc's and called "sales executives" now.
A lot of "up-titling" of basic jobs occurred during the 1990s and its stuck ever since.
90% of these brand new premium cars on our roads are leased through the driver's employment/company or on these new private lease contracts.
All is good while they have a job. but when they leave then the car goes back.
My business model for tax efficiency was to buy older executive cars outright and then they pay me for running costs.
These older cars are for sale at sometimes 25% or less of their when new value.
So these guys driving round in £100k plus motorcars must feel good, but the cars will only be selling for about £5k in 7 years time.
Diesels are getting very cheap now, the online car sales are full of premium diesels for sale.
But no one is going to buy them unless they are silly cheap. The UK government are out for diesels and we know it.

Up titling across the pond happened earlier, and left us with:

Janitor = Custodial Engineer.
Garbage man = Sanitation Engineer.
Gardener = Lawn Care Specialist.

The list could start a separate thread. Here, "leasing" a luxury vehicle like a Mercedes or 5-series BMW is quite popular. First generation S-Types were also popular lease vehicles, and when the leases expire, the cars wind up on auction....which is how my wife acquired the S-Type that I rescued from her! Right at the end of the factory warranty (then only 36K miles), the driver floor mat began crumbling, and the driver window motor quit. Not too bad considering that she got it for 33% of the retail price, like Busa's example above.
