So I have searched and have not come up with a good answer so I am asking for help.
I have a 03 S-Type and the other day I pushed my key fob to lock the doors. Nothing happened so like a dumb a%& I stood there pushing the button for 3 more mins. Anyway I figure the battery is dead and go buy a new one. I have it installed (Batteries Plus guy did it while I waited) and still nothing.
It will not lock, unlock, make the lights come on or open the truck. Those are the 4 things My fob does. I only have the one so I do not know if it is a fob problem or a car problem.
I would like to avoid going to the dealer if possible.
Any ideas?

 

possibly a dumb thought, but have you checked the fuse? perhaps it's blown since you're saying nothing's happening. if you have a second fob, have you tried that one? if another fob works, then it wouldn't be the fuse and you may need to re-program the remote to the car.

 

Dealer quoted me $170 to reprogram the remote!!! What the hell! $250 for a new key. I can think of better ways to spend that kind of money. Guess I will be using the key for everything!
