Default Keys and remote stuck

Just an FYI be carefull not to drop your remote between the console and the drivers seat. It just took me about an hour to get mine out. they fell in between the track so I couldn't get them from the top or bottom. I ended up loosening up the rear seat bolts and could feel the keys but the remote was stuck between the motor and the arms. I got the keys out but the remote stayed inside the seat. Finally I had to reach in from the back, up where all the power motors are at and got the remote to drop down. Now it doesn't work but luckely I have a spare. Hands all cut up and exhausted!!
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest!

Lol a 12 inch set of needle nose pliers does the trick just fine.

I've dropped mine there also - not once but twice - I'm a slow learner. However, I found that using a yardstick to push them from the back to front will eventually put them in a position where I can retrieve them. Very frustrating - especially the second time.

Mine were wedged in the sliding mechanism and the remote actually got ground up when I moved the seat. They were really jammed in there. They fell in such a way so I couldn't push the under and they would not come out the top. The keys got caught in the drive screw. I guess you had to be there!

Do you have the separate key and remote or flip style?
An FYI to people with older S-Type, you can programme the flip key and remote ala X-Type and new XJ to work in your S-Type. Just a thought for those that may want a more modern look.
