Default Knock Sensor location on 2004 4.2 NA

Ok, wife's S type threw the P0327 code (low voltage knock sensor bank 1). Where is this thing located. Looked at the pictures of the 4.0, should be outside the plenum between the middle injectors. it isnt there. Is it under the plenum? Added pics so you would think I was insane...

Thanks,

Brian Smith

Hi,

knock sensors are under the intake manifold just like in the SC version only under the supercharger. You must remove the intake manifold to get to them.

Believe me, it's better to remove the intake manifold anyway than a supercharger . Probably the gaskets are worth replacing by the way.

I recommend downloading Workshop Manual - there is a nice description of what and how with pictures .

Adam.

I would replace the intake gaskets anyway, false economy not to...

On my (departed) x308 (3.2 V8) I was able to replace a knock sensor without removing the intake manifold.
Check if you can see it down between the manifold pipes.
