2001 S-type 4.0
Hi, dumb question...I took a quick look for my ODBII port on my car. Didn't see it...is it covered by a cap of cover of some type? Where is the exact location?
Btw, it is a left hand drive car.

It's under the bottom edge of the lower dash panel, drivers side, under and slightly left of the steering column, now I'm thinking of my UK spec car, so the LHD may not be a mirror image. But if you look up under the lower dash from floor level you should be able to spot it.
BTW - No cover, just a black plastic connector with metal inserts for the contacts.

 

For LH drive cars its as djdex described only its to the right of the steering column.

 

It MAY be under a cover (flap) on the earlier cars. Have a look
