Default Looking for an S-type Owner to head the FAQ Coordination

Hello guys (and gals if we have any in this forum). I've tried to contact a couple members offline to inquire if they would like to take on the responsibility of compiling, and being sole steward of the s-type's FAQ thread. It does take some time to first prepare, but after that, its simply keeping an eye out for good threads (and external documents) that fit some of your most common questions and are of good reference.

I've personally made the XK8/R FAQ my project to maintain...as well as moderate those of you that need moderating.

For anyone who would like this

Job requirements include:
  1. Ability to form proper sentences and good grammar
  2. Formatting and presentation
  3. Basic understanding of HTML linking and image use
  4. Image capture, PDF generation and convertion to jpg and image editing not required, but a bonus if you have it
  5. File hosting (off-jaguar forums) for PDFs larger than 4MB in size, or I can assist for those files that exceed the forum limits
  6. Regular visitor/poster/participant...I'd say 3-4 times per week minimum to keep current on the new topics
If you'd like to volunteer, please send me a PM and we'll get the details lined out, or if you have any questions, send them to me or post up here.

You will, as head ***** in charge, start a new thread with a list of topics and their links. We'll sticky it to the top of the forum area, and you will be the only one allowed (with the exception of mods/admins obviously) to edit and add/modify the content within the thread.

A great idea Matt, one with which I totally agree.
We need a real enthusiastic S typer who visits the forum regularly and wants to see it improved. I'm hopeful that someone who fits the criteria will step forward and do what you've done with the XK8/R FAQ which has been excellent....

Any interest guys?

Hardest part is getting the initial FAQ thread up and organized. After that its nothing but your normal routine, reading - writing (bitching about paint) when it occurs, you think, 'hey, that's a good thread (or document) to put in the FAQ', edit the original list, link it, done.

Still waiting for someone to throw his hand up

Got your PM Jeff, replied using my cell...hope you got it.

To make life easier for the volunteer, I have started to categorize and alphabetize the existing FAQ.

Please note, that 'dead' links will be removed together with all non FAQ related posts that crept into the original FAQ. (any objections please let me know before the WE)

So that you start with a nice clean, easy to use FAQ.

Now then, where are you?

I'm willing to help some where I can. I'm a graphic designer by profession. Not very familiar with web design / HTML coding though. I can assist if you need very small in size pdf's made or illustrations to go along with the faq. Just PM me if I can help.

You should get a Canadian and thus, improve the international appeal of this place.

Found a volunteer! Look for a new, improved, and growing S-type FAQ thread in the upcoming days/weeks.

sjuraud and I spoke over the weekend, and he's going to start it up soon. He'll need input, suggestions and advice but he's excited to do it. He's new to the s-type world and learning a ton, so he's like a big sponge. He's going to absorb, type it up and link stuff, and share it with all you find s-type owners.

Seriously sjuraud, if I can be of any help just ask. I am sure all of us S guys will appreciate your hard work and will be more than willing to help you out in their own capacities. Thank you for stepping up!

That's right I'm the sucker! : ) Anyway I like to give back when I've received help. I'm sure I'll need some advice here and there. I'll be grateful for any input along the way. I've been doing a little research and will be working with h20boy a little on the front end to sort it out. I've had a bad cold the last week, so haven't had much time to do anything yet other than mentally mull over the best plan of attack. I'll be back in touch soon. Thanks everybody!
