Low Coolant Level Warning
2000 S-Type 4.0. I replaced the coolant expansion tank because it cracked and leaked. The new tank does not have a level sensor instrument and the dash warning message "Low Coolant Level" remains on. How can I cancelor eliminate the warning message display??? Thanks for any help.

you need the S-139 Reflash... That was a service action to do away with the coolant level sensor. if your vehicle still qualifies for this campaign, the dealer will do it for FREE! give me the last 6 digits of your VIN and I can see if your vehicle still qualifies. other than that, you would have to pay to have the reflash to rid that message.

Thank you for your assistance and expert awareness of this issue. My VIN ends with L76100. Is there an official ID number or Title for the "Service Action" to do away with the coolant level sensor? Thank you in-advance for your kind additional help.

the S-139 reflash is not open on your car. You will have to take it to the dealer to have the PCM reflashed-the PCM is what sends the instrument pack the low coolant level message. they deleted this on all s-types for reasons unknown.
BTW, you do have an open recall on your car. here is your DDW information!

one more thing, what we were instructed to do, was to cut the coolant level sensor wiring off and then update the processor. even though it is not showing up on your ddw, your dealer might help you out. go talk to them! it is worth a shot!

Thank you for the assistance and professional advice you gave me in January. I now am finally going to have the S-139 Reflash done. The Dealer wants $100. Is that a reasonable and usual cost? How much time does a technician need to perform the Reflash?? Thanks again.
