Manual V6 S type (2001) limited slip diff options
Hello all,
first time jag owner, despite working on some lovely examples at work.
Recently picked up a pretty mint 2001 manual s type v6, Loving it so far. strangely for me there's not a lot I would like to do to this car other than install a limited slip differential. On doing some research I have seen there is a Quaiff unit for the R however upon speaking to the bloke who designed it he confirmed this would not work in any pre 2002 models. On that basis what options, if any, do I have? Any ford/Lincoln options etc?
Kind regards,
Luke

Yes keep searching. Many threads about it.
If your real interested check out some Lincoln LS forums and search for limited slip rear end.
It will take some work and expense. Do you have a budget?

Honestly no not really, I am planning on keeping the car for some time and its the only thing I would like to do to it so willing to splash a bit of cash
OK. Here is what I consider the original thread made by Robert (ILLS) years ago on an Lincoln LS forum I was on. It's a huge one so if your interested spend the time. He is very knowledgeable and apparently was running a shop when he put all this together. Now remember this was started WAY back in 2008 and continued until 2022! So I am sure links and prices have all been changed since that time.
The good thing is you have a Gen I Jaguar which was very close to the Gen I LS. After that the cars were made increasingly different with less parts swapping between them.
LSD for Gen I Lincoln LS
Now if you do this please consider making your own thread on what it took as this is a question that's asked from time to time. Maybe you will find out additional information that has come out over the ensuing years.
