Recent "Restricted Performance" flashing up on my dash and a code read show P0328, 1 CIRCUIT HIGH BANK 1. I just need some confirmation on replacement.
1. That this is the passenger side?
2. How difficult and what's the procedure for this replacement? The intake needs to come off I'm guessing?
3. Which sensor to purchase? Autozone and Rock Auto have so many options I don't know where to go.
It's a huge PDF. (The manual covers all models, so make sure to look in the section for the V8.) Scroll down to page 1980 of the PDF for pinpoint tests for code P0328.
If you need to change the sensor, see pages 790 and 1082. Code P0328 is applicable to the RH sensor, which is on the US passenger's side. The two sensors are located on top of the block, inboard of the heads, hidden under the intake manifold. The following picture, shameless stolen from eBay, shows the two sensors on each side in the middle:
What goes on with the EGR cooler hose, other than getting old and cracking? Is there another name and/or oem part number for it? i'm not finding EGR cooler hose in the online microfiche search.
Actually the return hose under the SC connects to the throttle after the hoses that go to the EGR pass the coolant on it's way back to the water pump so look for the THROTTLE BODY RETURN HOSE/4.2 LITER SUPERCHARGED/THROTTLE/FROM VIN (N13089) AJ89746
It is a rubber hose and it's location makes it difficult to replace.
Change it while you are there!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(sorry I called it the EGR hose when the EGR is only one of the components to use this in the return path)
If I have non SC engine would I have this hose? I'm not finding part number when I search my normally aspirated V8 engine.
Search says it doesn't fit my engine.
With the NA engine it will be far less work to remove the intake manifold to get to the knock sensors. The NA engine also has a coolant hose under there so I would be planning on changing that. I would also replace both knock sensors since it is a bit of work to get to them and you will have everything apart anyway.
You list all after market knock sensors and that's up to you but I would search out the Jaguar OEM parts.
