Default Metal on metal noise coming from the rear driver side wheel.

I have a 2001 jaguar s type with the 3.0 v-6. There is a metal on metal sound coming from the rear drivers side wheel. I looked and the pads are good due to being changed a summer ago. I was told that it was a warped rotor that was the constant grinding noise but now there is another noise that sound like metal tapping on metal also. I have another post on here about drive shaft noise but not sure if that could be the culprit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

JACK IT UP pull the wheel and look around,, the issue might show itself easily ie metal shavings, worn spot ect ect..... look at your brake pads...

I had the wheel off and the pads looked like they were fine. Could it be a caliper issue or cv joint?

COULD be,,, id jack it up and start moving stuff around to see if i could hear or see the problem.......only contact on your brakes should be pad to rotor..

It's possible for the brake backplate to be touching the disc (rotor) intermittently. Because almost no disc is 100% true it will only touch occasionally. If so, bend the backplate away from the disc.

Yes I would think that you could replicate the sound with the offending wheel jacked up. Please support the car before going underneath. Does the sound change at all when the brakes are applied?
