Its a hot air intake. You ever feel how hot the engine compartment is after driving it around with that intake it sucks that in. I believe someone a while back was running it and lost horsepower. Mafiosos intake elbow is probably the best intake option available.

With a hot air intake like that one you prob. will loose power. The only way to gain power is a true cold air intake but then you usually run the risk of hydrolocking your car if you drive through a big water puddle

Not to take anything away from Mafioso, but... Couldn't you use the Mina intake, without the filter (attach it to the factory MAF / Airbox), to kind of do the same thing? (Remove the baffles / silencers from the intake path between the MAF and the throttle body?)

Just food for thought.

Take care,

George

You can't because it still uses the stock "octopus" that goes to the intake tube on the top of the motor. You could use both the mafioso tube and mina intake together though.

Oh I got you. So Mafioso replaces the TB - MAF section with all the silencers. This is just the end section with a cone filter on it (with no heat shield of course )

Take care,

George

Here you go I knew I remembered someone doing a comparison. Pretty good review on the Mina Kit stock and doing a tube similar to Mafiosos but not coated and a mixture of the 2. Results were that the tube with the stock box felt the best. Disclaimer this was all butt dyno but done back to back so I would assume you could feel power loss and gain differences if done that soon together. A few post down he also did an intake air temp comparison also. Also note the tube used was not coated and he dropped temps 1 degree, Mafiosos is coated so your temp drop will be better with his. But interesting read none the less.

I was about to ask the same thing george, but you beat me to it.

I remember looking at a CAI for my grand prix, the pipe lead into the fenderwell with a cone filter but had a plate to block it off cleanly from the engine bay. It was actually quite nice looking.

Thanks for the link vance.

That would be awesome if we could somehow do that with our filter and move it away from the engine bay. Everywhere I've looked to move it though there is just way too much stuff in the way.
