Once more, into the breach...

swapped #5 injector with #3, started engine, RP mode, misfire #3 injector.

Ordered 2 new injectors (they were affordable).

Swapped in new coil pack for the #3 (old #5). started engine, RP mode, misfire #3.

Thoughts?

Once more into the breach....

Ok,yesterday swapped #5 injector with #3, stared car, RP mode entered, open injector circuit indicated.

ordered 2 injectors (they were affordable, be here Tuesday.), cleared codes.

This morning, swapped #3 coil (old #5) for a new coil ordered earlier. started entered RP mode, codes same as yesterday.

Thoughts?

Posts 21 and 22 look to be slight variants of the same thing. You swapped injectors only and the fault followed? Sounds like you don't trust your own work. I'd say you've isolated the fault.

That was a double post, didn't realize the first had gone thru. I swapped in the new coil just to be sure the coil wasn't the cause. Had it, easy swap, why not.

Goes into RP mode immediately or soon after first drive of the day, engine runs rough.. This occurs whether or not car has been on maintenance charger (on board 1.5A, doesn't seem to happen when off the 2A charger). Code not always thrown but the times it has been, it P0305 or P0307. Second start of day, engine runs smooth, RP warning goes away.

Action taken so far:
Can of injector cleaner run thru system.
contemplating purchase of injectors for cyl 5 and 7.

looking for wisdom.

I get a lean on one bank and restricted performance anytime a gas station attendant doesn't get the gas cap really tight. I just clear the error and it doesn't reappear until an attendant pumps the gas and repeats the error ...

Not sure that helps you but I thought I'd just throw that out there.

Default One more thing

Changed injector, success . But (there is always a but), I broke the vacuum line off the little black electric thingy at the front of the injector rail. What is this thing called? Will have to order a new one.

Thanks

I think it's the fuel pressure sensor. On my STR it was about $95.

It should set a code but drive OK because there is a factory default setting if the sensor fails.

What's the car doing?

Received part from Advance Auto in mail. Put it on. Run runs correctly again.

Thanks for all your help.
