Did you hear what happened here yesterday? A black Bear of all things made its way onto the turnpike, and it shut down the turnpike for 4 hours while they chased it. Then it climbed a tree, and they had to bring in a hook and ladder truck to get to it, tranquilize it and get it down.

Hence traffic was an absolute nightmare all day.

Wow that's nuts. Around here when there is a bear on the interstate (about once a week it seems) usually someone steps up as a volunteer and goes ahead and plows into it with his truck. Problem solved (the redneck way).

I was on my way home from work last fall and a black bear ran out in front of the car in front of me. Happened to be a guy in a Mustang convertible....with the top down. That guy crapped his pants when the bear stopped on the road and moved toward him - he hit the gas and swerved around in a hurry.
