My Jag has more leaks than the White house
good afternoon,
Just kidding about the title, but I'm replacing some of the hoses on the s type r and the one hose looking at the car from the front on the left side of the radiator is really a tough challenge.
Is it necessary to take the bumper off to get in and change it out?
thanx

Hard to know which one you're referring to without a picture. If your'e talking about the long thin hose that goes down to the SC coolant pump area, bumper removal is not necessary. However if your car still has the original hose clamp still attached to that hose you will need a compact hose clamp removal tool (one with the cable extension) to be able to easily release that clamp.
I would also change the short larger diameter main radiator hose as well while your'e at it as you will need to probably remove this first to get to the clamp anyway. Also seriously think about changing the short larger diameter engine coolant inlet hose (I think part no AJ8873) as this does cop most of the heat; this does need a bit of stuff to be removed before you can get to it.
While your at it lol change the notorious valley hose (throttle body return hose) as well if it hasn't been done yet....

I would plan on changing ALL of the hoses. When I had my old 2005 STR the only problems I had were coolant leaks and I fixed them one at a time. Would have been cheaper and far better to just plan on changing them all out at once.
I am sure your aware of the dreaded under SC hose the STR's have? That's a cheap hose that can cause a very expensive repair or engine destruction!
With the age of our cars it definitely needs replaced.
