My S-type wish list... what do you think!??
Hey guys... just thought I'd update you on my wish list for my 2000 Jaguar S-type V6 3.0 liter
1. Eibach lowering springs
2. HID lamp kit.. probably from e-bay somewhere there are tons of em there
3. Cross drilled/slotted or both rotors for front and rear
4. Performance pads
5. Haha and this one is funny... I want some fancy small sticker for the rear window (the little one) that's on the door the one that doesn'tlower.. I want some sticker that maybe says something like Euro-tuner.. Idk.. Something like that but nothing "pimp" like DUBZ or nothing like that
LMK what you think about my wish list.... and Ohhh.. here is my RIDE!!!

RE: My S-type wish list... what do you think!??
Sure we can throw on the exhausts on that kit... except I don't want to spend the $1000 on them.. and being 16 it would take me years to save that lol.. Is there any way to buy mufflers that are close to the size of the stock ones,, and just putting them on instead of buying the whole exhaust system??? I mean I have put a universal high performance muffler (magnaflow) on my 1998 Sebring convertible, and I can deal with cutting pipes and stuff.
Like I wanna go with magna-flow or borla mufflers..

Nah.. I;m not into the tv/dvd/audio stuff... I like my stock stuff
So I;m doing performance and visual first... and then we'll see.
Is there anything cheaper than the Borla mufflers,, I mean the muffler from magnaflow for my Chrysler cost me 100 and it's highpolished chrome.
LMK

No, but i'm sure you can find something...I personally like the stainless steel, and thought for 500 it was cheap...
You'll come to find that there isn't too many cheap parts out there for the Jags.....anyting you find of quality is going to cost you...then again, you're young (16 I think you said) so i'm not sure of what you may think quality is compared to others....
either way, you got a good idea and a great start with your wish list...good luck!

RE: My S-type wish list... what do you think!??
Ok Ok Ok. Oh man I;m excited about my jag.. haha
Ok so I measured out my mufflers. the mufflers are 16 inches long(body) and then if you take the muffler lenght to the edge of the tip it's 24 inches long. Also as it seems that the end of the muffler (the back side) is in the center, and then the tip side of the muffler has an offset completely to the left. Soo my point is I found this. I know Magnaflow is a great car parts quality company etc. I have their muffler on my sebring and love how it sounds. SOoo I searched around and found this muffler, seems like it would fit on both sides, and it's smaller than the stock mufflers, but lenght wise it seems fine and the offsets seem fine too. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ain&id=588
So what I was thinking is. Cutting off the stock mufflers right at the entrance, where the piping enters the muffler, then I could stick on the new muffler there, and put on some nice tips like 3.5 or 4 inch tips. This would be on both sides of the rear end.
And I can get these stainless steel mufflers for $90 a pop... connections haha
LMK what you guys think.,
Thanks,
Paul

RE: My S-type wish list... what do you think!??
Ok yeah.. lol I know that..
Do you think it will work? and also do you think it'll be in the reasonable tone?? I mean as far as exhaust sound.. like I don't want it to be too loud.. I want it to be like any remus, arden, or mile gallery mufflers.
LMK

RE: My S-type wish list... what do you think!??
Well i suppose anything can/will work....As for sound quality, i don't really know....there is no substitute for the real thing...LOL
Can you see if they have a sound gallery and listen to the sound a v-6 will make with those mufflers? I know that once you put them on, and they turn out to sound like those rice burners with a lawn mower engine you'll be real disappointed and dad will kick yer ***!!
Do some research on the sound quality before you buy.....
What kind of warranty do they have?

RE: My S-type wish list... what do you think!??
yeah.. hmm.. maybe I'll hold off on the muffler, and do the other stuff first.
Like drop it the 1.2 inches using the Eibach springs. That's my #1 priority right now.
and this would only cost me $300.00 ...... $280.00 for the springs on E-bay and 20 for a compression tool for the shocks.
I think me and my dad will be able to put the springs on ourselves..
Have any of you guys done it yourselves?? how hard is it to do?? and how long does it take??
And also one more thing.. If I use the Eibach drop kit will my car ride become really stiff and hard over little bumps?? because even when i put on my new rims and the tires which are 215/40 R18 I felt the ride getting a little harder. and I don't want it to be any more harder.. But yet I love the look of dropped Jags,, especially I think It'll look pretty good with my new rims and I think I really need to clse that gap a little with the drop between the tire and the fender.
So LMK what you think about what the ride will be like when i drop it.
thanks,
Paul

RE: My S-type wish list... what do you think!??
Ok, now you’re talking...
The lowering spring installation is very basic and easy. Should take you guy’s bout 4-5 hrs...if you take your time and do it right...
The process is simple for the front, remove wheel, drop lower control arm, (two bolts on the frame) three screws holding the coil assy from the fender and tie rod. If you're real careful with the tie rods you won't need an alignment (make sure you don't twist it)
The rear is even easier, just make sure you don't mess with the cam bolt in the center of the suspension. If you loosen them you will need an alignment. Remove lower control arm, and coil!
As for ride quality, yes, it will be a bit harsh and you will feel every bump and crack in the road. But...it's worth it because the car handles so much better! Cornering is better, accelerating without that squat is so much nicer and linier....One of the better upgrades I've done and I don't regret it one bit!

RE: My S-type wish list... what do you think!??
I loovee tight rides, except the only issue with that is that I think there will be a lot of little vibrations over bumps of different things and too much vibration sounds from interior and exterior when I hit bumps... LMK
Do you have alot of vibrating/RATTLING sounds from the interior or exterior of the car?
Thanks,
Paul
