I have a 2005 S-Type R. I purchased it in 2008 and at some point I upgraded to a newer version of the navigation dvd from someone on this forum and it worked fine. The upgrade is the black background with the leaping cat. I had no problems with it for a few years. A few months ago the navigation screen began to display "the disk installed is not a map dvd". Everything else is fully functional. I tried removing the dvd and re-installing the original dvd but same result. Any ideas on how to correct this problem? Also, if anyone knows where I could get a copy of the latest/last version of navigation dvd for my system, I'd like to buy one but not for $199.00 from the dealership. At first it wasn't bothering me but now the OCD has kicked in and I have to get it working again. I have too, there's no other option..Please help.

 

Before I upgraded to Venelin's bluetooth kit I was having intermittent multi-CD unit problems where disks weren't being recognized. Thought unit was toast but then discovered and tried using a CD/DVD lens cleaner and it immediately solved the problem. Under $10 and takes only a few minutes. You were right about it not working,but always worth a try. And the East disc actually has all of Canada on it and kj07xk was right about changiing the search area before entering the town. Im usually pretty good with this kind of thing but I missed that step and it made all the difference. Without this forum I would have just shut it down or bought a disc I didnt need, Thanks Gents!!
