Default Need help. Brake / Parking Brake sounds like it's sticking

Hi,

I just returned from an extended 4 month business trip.

I keep my 2007 S-Type 3.0 in a climate controlled garage and when I returned home and tried reverse, my car seemed stuck and it sounded like the brake was sticking. I really had to gently apply the gas to get the car to kind of jump but didn't want to do any more for risk of damage. I then put it into Drive to get the car back into the garage and same thing -- seemed like the brake was sticking.

The car has only 5,500 miles (is pretty much in mint condition). I did notice ABS Fault and Check Engine Light was on.

Any hints as to what it could be? Could it be a stuck parking brake or something like that. Before I left for my trip, everything was fine.

It could be the main foot brake that's stuck- usually there's surface rust on the rotors.

The warning lights are probably from a near flat battery. Got to keep the car on a tender during long storage periods.

I checked the rotors and they don't really look like they have surface rust.

Could it be that the parking brake is stuck? Could this have happened?

I would fully charge the battery, as Mikey said, before doing any other troubleshooting. The check engine light would have nothing to do with brake issues, but with the check engine light and ABS lights on simultaneously, it suggests the battery might be flat.

So fully charge it before troubleshooting. A fully charged battery causes all kinds of gremlins to disappear.

With the car is off can you hear the EPB motor run when you apply or release the parking brake?
What about the brake light on the dash?

After fully charging the a battery, try manually releasing/activating the EPB a few times. Does the car move easily fore/aft? Does the warning light activate/extinguish normally? Any error messages?

I followed the link that joycesjag provided and worked perfectly.

Hooked my battery up to a tender. Next morning, all warning lights off and everything working fine.
