I test drove a 03' 4.2 today and I really like it, but was curious on the 01-02 S types 4.0's. Any major issues to be concerned about with these years? Car will probably have between 60K-90K on it.

I came here a couple of months ago just like you, and learned a tonne of things.

Stay away from the 2000-2002 stypes, they have a lot of reliability problems, you should get at least an 03'. Like any luxury vehicle you need to be ready to fix anything that possibly goes wrong and it will be on the pricey side, but the 03' jags and up are very highly rated in reliability. I'd stick with the 3.0litre unless you have the money for a 4.2 litre.

Also, you may wanna do a search and look at a lot of threads I've opened as I asked the same questions you are now asking.
