..or possibly a Festival of Pain, or both; I expect it will be interesting in either case. I can't say I just bought a boring car.

Hi, new member Kurt here, located in North Texas (Plano). I just came to terms with the seller of a '93 Jaguar XJS 4.0 convertible. I'll probably get a hold of both the car and the title tomorrow.

I have never owned a Jag before, but as a child my uncle had a couple of E-types over the years; both a 60's straight six and an early 70's V12. So I have harbored a desire for this marque most of my life. However, I certainly wasn't looking for an XJS or even a Jag when I hit the search engines this week, wondering what class of cash-car I could find under $5k.

So while this isn't entirely a lark, it's pretty close. I found an XJ-S buyer's guide online containing this sage advice: "finding the right jag is better than finding the right price." FAIL!

The one thing I knew for sure when starting my car search is that I wasn't selling my current car for peanuts just to replace with it some boring Japanese sedan or another muscle car.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

Welcome to the forum Kurt,

I think it will probably be a mixture of both!

The knowledgeable members in the XJS section should help you minimise the pain. Follow this link XJS - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJS section for help, advice and information.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can visit the Southwest US Region section by following this link Southwest US - AZ TX NM OK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
