I watch the oil sales at Advance Auto Parts / Autozone / Pep Boys and stock up when it's on sale. With the mail-in rebates that many folks lose or never bother to send in, the stuff winds up costing me about $2.00 a quart, sometimes a little less. That's a far cry from when oil used to go for 69 cents a quart back in the late 70s, but still better than paying today's retail prices....

I use the Bosch oil filters which work great and cost a lot less 03 2003 Jaguar S-Type Oil Filter - Engine Parts | Drivewire.com

I'll have to see if I can get Bosch locally. I switched to Wix since I live by an O Reillys and they stock them. I'll have to ask them about Bosch since I did like them when I used them in my Marauder.

I have actually refused to take the Purolator filter when they are part of an oil change special at Advance or Auto Zone. Typically you have to buy a PureOne filter and then like 5 or 6 qts of synthetic...but it's a really good deal just for the oil alone. So I'll buy the oil/filter to get the deal, and leave the filter on the counter. I don't want to just throw it away.

Been using only K&N for 6 or 7 years now on all vehicles except the SAAB, which has one of those cartridge style filters. I like the K&N's, a little more $ but seem built extremely well.

I've been on Beck-Arnley filters lately. No complaints....seems a good pc. of gear.
Have had Bosch on one of the S-Types before....far as I can tell...only diff between the two is one is black the other white....'cept the B-A comes with a li'l windshield sticker for mileage/date so away with the grease-pencil!
