New hood pad, now doesn't close easily
Well this one has been a puzzling one. I ordered from one of the sponsors on here and had no idea it was going to be this messy for them and me. They had to get it shipped from the UK as well as then from their USA location me. A massive loss for them and then it doesn't fit to boot! They don't want it back as it costs too much to ship it so SNG Barratt is just refunding me.
How could anyone complain about that refund service.
I still have no hood pad though ...

The folks at SNG Barratt have always treated me right so I am not surprised that they are refunding your money without wanting the ill-fitting hood pad back. I wonder what vehicle it actually fits. I hope SNG Barratt can make that determination so they can properly handle any future orders for the same hood pad....
Surely there is some material out there that can be utilized to construct a proper hood pad for you. I would contact several of the auto interior / convertible top shops in your area and ask them for ideas. Even if they do not do that type of work themselves, they may be able to point you to someone who does....

He told me that they'll never accept an order for a hood pad again because:
1. It costs too much to bring in from the UK
2. It's hard to ship them WO it getting damaged. Mine was bumped a bit on the edges.
I could get one from my local dealer for a bit less money now, that wasn't the case when I ordered and in fact I had some trouble locating one.
But that might be just the same thing.
I think a custom one is the way to go with much better quality material and an edge hem sewn on. Nothing too thick though. Lots of stuff out there is 1/2" thick. I'm thinking 1/8" is a safe size.
Maybe if I lay a piece of material on the inside of the one that doesn't fit to get the holes and outer boundary alignment it would work as long as it isn't hard like this one.
I have a local shop in mind I just need some nice a quilt sewn pattern that's durable and insulative?
It fit's the hole alignment and outline perfectly. I'm not sure these new stiffer versions fit any S-type properly. Certainly not my Vin#. Maybe just a factory FU of "upgrading" the part?
