Hi All! Just joined as a new member. I am from South Africa and drive a 2004 S-Type 3.0 A/T V6 SE. Car has done 74000km and is still running smoothly. Very happy with overall performance. However, recently, the A/C packed up and all the hoses plus the bag desiccant had to be replaced at an astronomical cost. Need to replace the 4 shocks as well.
Hope to find answers from all the experts out there pertaining to certain issues that might arise as car gets older.

Well you can use Lincoln LS parts which are much cheaper. The A/C compressor is only about $165 for the compressor on Ebay.

Welcome to the forum
As already mentioned above^ many Lincoln LS parts will work on the S-type. They are cheaper and if you search the forum you will find a list of parts from the Lincoln LS that will work on the S-type.

Indeed welcome, we all look forward to hearing stories about what it is like to own an S-Type way down in South Africa. Are there many of them around?
And as for using Lincoln LS parts, I bet there aren't too many of them in bone yards and shipping costs from the US would probably be pretty pricey...
