Sorry to disappoint, but no picture content just yet for this thread, but heck, I'm so excited, I couldn't NOT make a thread about this,

After much back and forth and deliberation regarding a possible forgestar order, combined with the winter blues getting me down, seeing the STR has been garage'd for the past five months, and spring just around the corner, I finally bit the bullet and placed an order for a set of 19 inch forgestars through jurrian @ modbargains,

I also ordered a set of hankook venus V12 evo's today through tirerack, 245/35ZR19 and 275/30ZR19 front and rear respectively,

Much thanks to under_pressure for firing off this burning desire to equip the STR with hot new shoes, as well as shout-outs to Jurrian for humoring me for weeks; I'm certain he was quietly questioning if I would ever end up even going through with the purchase,

Stay tuned because there is lots more to come in the coming weeks, including a few surprises for some of you, no doubt!!!

In the meantime, here is one in memory of my STR on 18's...

Nice! I am going to inquire about the Forgestars for my NA 4.2. Are you going to sell your OE 18" set? Are you in Western Canada?

You're obvioulsy going to love the wheels, there is no doubt about that. But you are also going to love the tires - they grip better than the Michelin Pilot Sports I had on my OEM wheels.

So what color and finish did you order? Or is that going to be a surprise???

I've been in contact with Jurrians as well about the same setup. Did you go 9.5" or 10" in the back? I'd guess 9.5" with that tire size...

19x10 in the rear with a 275 tire, so identical to under pressure's setup size wise, reference his thread to give you an idea how it all fits,

Congrats! Can't wait to see pictures! I was the same way with Jurrian... my correspondence with him spanned several months before I actually placed the order. You'll love the set up with the Hankooks!

~$1600 for wheels, tires can vary from $600-1000 depending on brand/quality.

I am by no means loaded with dollars lol, but I bought Forgestars because relatively speaking (i.e., compared with forged aluminum wheels) they are fairly inexpensive here in the USA, where they are made. They cost less than some cast wheels I have had in the past (i.e., my old Carlsson wheels) and cost about as much as some quality cast wheels in the past have cost me (i.e., OZ Wheels, and Prodrive wheels). They may be more expensive where you are because they have to be shipped across the ocean. But the 18" wheels the STR came with just look small by today's standards, so its a nice upgrade to give these cars a more present look.
