I ended up ordering that set. I think they will look good on my silver S.

Get this... The seller sells them two ways. First, at auction, starting at 38.95, or buy it now, at 49.95 for the set. Both have 7.50 shipping.

So I figured I'd bid on the 38.95 set, trying to get a better deal. Of course it got bid up to 67 bucks, when all the buyer had to do was scroll down and see the seller's other items for sale and could have had them for 49.95. I got them for that. I guess some people just have more money than common sense.

Just kidding man, I won't be spending any money on the car until I get my front bumper re-sprayed. I cant even look at it.

I figured...

What's up with your front bumper? You hit something or just have some paint chips in general?

Its terrible...The owner before me decided to get a cheapo front bumper re-spray or the auto body place just did a horrible job, and that paint is actually peeling in some spots. Also, the rock/pebble chips are like a disease, they have spread to basically every cm of the bumper, not only that but they are legit chips. The paint, when hit, seems to have chipped off making them massive and deep. Me being the idiot that I am tried to fill most of the big ones with touchup paint I got from the dealer, and of course it doesnt match, so in direct sunlight it looks, well, disgusting. I cant even bring myself to look directly at it.

The money that went to the pot hole incident was set aside for the re-spray so I'll have to wait a while before I get this done. One place that I got a good vibe from said they will strip all the old paint off, fill/sand and re-spray for $350.

That sucks. I had a similar situation from what was supposed to be a "good" body shop with my e36 m3. Had the front bumper redone, and for whatever reason, the prep work wasn't right and it was almost like the new paint never really "stuck" to the old paint underneath. It began to chip and peel a bit shortly after it was on the car. There were places where you could see the old black under the new black, leading me to the conclusion that the paint never actually adhered to the bumper but rather only superficially to the old paint. Make sure the bumper is well sanded, you may even want to do it yourself. 320 grit - 400 wet - 600 wet. Then take it in.
