Question No audio in radio

I have 2005 S-type and I was out driving today and the sound on my radio was working fine and then it just stopped. The mute is not on, I've turned the radio on and off several times, restarted the car, hit the mode button, just about every button I can and still no sound. Any suggestions?

Have you tried using a CD?
If still no sound then I would start by checking to see if the mode button will show you if it is the right left back or front speakers work.
when still no joy then you will have to check the speakers connection at the back of the radio. Is it loose. When no. I would then use the parrot adapter cable for the bluetooth telephone to check if the radio output chips are working by using a speaker connect to the radio but be very careful not to short circuit the output chips.

The rest of the speaker circuit I am unable to help you with.

OP said mute was off . I'd start with wriggling the d2b fiber optic cable connectors on the various components in the left corner of your boot/trunk ! Guessing here you may have primium alpine with the amplifire on the top of the component stack in the boot/trunk ?
These are prone to water damage and failing in the way described above !
I'm on my second one due to water damage .

If none of the above ideas work, you might try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. I have no idea if it has any effect but I seem to recall a similar issue resolved that way although maybe by coincidence.

Had the same issue when I first bought my 2005. Had to replace the amp in the truck and all was well .

One last long shot....do steering wheel controls work? A failing clock spring would screw up audio in 1st gen S-Types....as happened in my '02.
