Default No interior heat in Calgary

So how it goes is there is a trickle of heat, as if the valve going to the heater core is only an eighth open.. A Jag tech once explained to me that it was valve/and-or/sensor 'thing' under the radiator Any one care to elaborate?

Lots of old messages about the DCCV, just read them
But be aware that sometimes it's a temperature sensor and they're much cheaper!

Heed Mr V8's advice... There are a bunch of threads on here that address the climate control issues. Here is a little hint before you read... When there are temperature differences between sides and center vents it is usually a bad cabin temperature sensor. When there is little or no heat it is usually the DCCV. Now don't go running out and get a DCCV yet! Be sure to read up on the threads first...

Oh BTW JagV8... Funny signature on another post... "STR not hot rodded" LOL

Total success, PITA, a day with a go fer helper, simply, the hoses in were hot, and a smidge warm on the out... after seeing inside of the valve, I can understand how the butterfly in there seizes shut with accumulation of crud! Good luck!

huh, "day with a go fer"??? you took the valve completely apart or just loose from the hoses to look in? I took mine out and cleaned any gunk out of it, but I don't know if it is opening or not, as I am getting a constant 6.5 volts at the connector on top.

'Go fer this' 'Go fer that'... We had to take completely out and replace the valve, for all the hassle of getting that far, we weren't prepared to gamble with repairing the valve, and honestly after seeing inside the valve, the investment was confirmed as a smart idea! The idea now id to cycle the heater from cold to hot periodically to keep the valve functioning, other tips were to use high quality Jag recommended coolant, alongside clean filtered and distilled water!
