I might also try and test the power coming to the coils and see if all are within range. Incorrect power tranfer could cause premature failures or inconsistent behavior. Perhaps Gus cold weigh in on this.

New plugs and coils. $550 later just took it for a test drive. Wow! The power and smoothness was beyond belief! I know I just doubled the value of the car but was worth it. Had forgotten how nice they really are. Have a thousand km run in the near future through the mountains, this will be fun again!!!!

I started to tell the story but realized I would probably be committed to a rubber room. In 2008 the car had 200000 km on it and was tired, time to let it go. We got avalanched on where there was no possibility of that happening. An incredibly strong chinook wind scoured the top of a mountain, transported the material a couple of miles horizontal and dropped it 6000 ft vertical onto my car!! As a result, $10k in cosmetics to the car and even today it is flawless.

There is a lot more to this story but even I do not believe it so just accept that I cannot ever sell the car and feel compelled to maintain it to the way it ended up in 2008.

Try pulling the plate on top of the radiator off and look between the radiator and the ac condenser, you may find that the space between them is full of debris. I found this and was amazed at how much had accumulated. If it's there, you can blow it out with the hose.
