Ok guys, I was told onthis forumthat I could replace the 4.0L in my 2000 s-type with the 4.2L engine. well, I just bought the 4.2l and everything is different. The wiring to the coils was different and the old coils don't go onto the 4.2 vc's so I swapped the vc's. Then I realized all the connections, and the location of the throttle body is different so I figured I would just swap intakes, well, the intake off the 4.0 doesn't fit the 4.2! So now I'm screwed.

The only idea I have is to find a wire harness for a 4.2 and hope the connectors/ecus are the same. Anyone have any ideas?

IDK, the guy who helped seems pretty knowledgeable, maybe I'm missing something. The motor I got is from an 03.

 

if you are referring to BRUTAL he knows what he is talking about. Just do a little more research and you should be able to put in the 4.2
