OEM Heated Seats Retrofit
Oh my.
In my quest to add the highly coveted factory heated seats, all my searches have only found folks who have replaced the seats entirely which came from the factory with the necessary hardware.
But…I have a black interior (which is harder to find here in SoCal) and my leather is in amazing condition.
I’ve been able to source all the parts needed to retrofit heated seats into seats which did not come with them from the factory; including pads, switches, dash cutout panel and control modules.
Taking out the seats and installing the majority of the hardware is no issue for me; my blind spot is upholstery. I’ve never removed or reinstalled seat covers before. I’ve watched several videos and have a hog ring pliers set (Dewalt, 25 bucks on Amazon) and a bag of rings at the ready.
Anyone ever remove and/or reinstall the upholstery on an S? I’m skiddish here, as I don’t want to mess anything up. I might go to the pick a part and just buy a random seat to practice on.

I have heated leather seats in my 2000 silverado truck. The inflatable bolsters failed on the drivers seat. The leather covers came off easily but on reinstall the shrinkage was too much for me to pull them on again. They sucked in like saran wrap. Ended up buying new gm covers for 300 a piece. I think the jaguar leather is way better and would hold its shape better
