Default P/S Leak 2005 STR

I have a P/S leak/seep that is very small and does not drip on the ground. It looks like the P/S return hose is where the fluid is hanging off of. I have replaced this hose with no change. I added a second clamp because I don't trust the crummy spring clamps from the factory. This is the large hose that runs from the P/S reservoir down to the P/S pump mounted to the engine. But still leaks.

I still can't see fluid anywhere except this hose fitting.

Anyone else fix a P/S leak in this area?

Haven't had that issue, but could there be a small crack on the housing? If memory serves me, it is plastic (much like the rest of the car) and could have a small crack.

That's a good point but the plastic reservoir is dry and the hose is only wet right at the curve where it connects to the pump. The pump is Aluminum and I tried to look at the steel nipple as I thought it might be leaking.

Another STR guy had a very strange coolant leak in the thermostat area. Turned out the steel nipples the hoses attach to are pressed into the Aluminum casting. His leak was between the steel tube and the casting. Only way to fix was replace the entire cast part.

Wow that is strange. What about using some steel putty?

I wanted to close this thread. It was a leaking P/S pump and you can use the V-8 Lincoln LS pump which is only $60 from the parts store!

It's a SOB to change and you must jack the drivers side of the engine up to get to all the bolts.
