parkbrake fault
had the parkbrake fault messege appear today , not working at all.
got it up on a local ramp , it looks like the cable has snapped, right above the rear diff a small aluminium housing completely snapped ?? i can grab both ends of it
can anyone advise on the repair or replacement of this .
will it be a full replacement or can just the cable be renewed ??
thanks

If your 2002 STR is like my 2003 STR, you're going to need a new assembly.
The assembly has the motor and gearbox connected to a new cable. If I recall correctly, the part wasn't terribly expensive $250 or so? Installation can be tricky as it lives right on top of the rear axle pumpkin.
There are some posts about it. A former member, phd12volt, was able to do his own repair. I had a local garage take care of it for about $200.

Nine difference part Numbers depending on VIN. If it is one of these you need, post back your VIN range and I'll get the P/N.
