The S Type was on a limited life line as of 2007. The sales pretty much peaked when the car was released in 1999/2000 and then sales fell every year after that.

The 2007 and 2008 STR's are very rare and not many were made.
At the end of production Jaguar was using up all the parts and we have seen many STR parts on regular S Types as well as the STR getting things like a wood steering wheel, Non-STR seat leather.

Always interested to see pictures because of that!

@clubairth1, this does for a fact have an R logo on driver and passenger seat! Not sure if that's good or bad but I love it! And to be honest until I pick it up this Saturday I'm not really sure what else it does or doesn't have! It also does have nav. Which I'm hoping they will throw in the latest version of!

Not yet. It is still too cold out here to try to run it. Trust me, I have thought about it. Maybe I should run down to Florida for the weekend.

Lol I remember as a kid in the mid 90s (?) it snowing in Central Florida and everyone freaked out. Florida can deal with hurricanes, but not flurries!

The STR is a great car that will reward you with many smiles. If you don't mind me asking, how many miles dose your new cat have?

Trevor if has 75k on it. These cars as you guys we'll know are hard to come by. I looked for the newest model with least miles. This was about the best I could do! What are some things it should look for with this mileage? What are some maintenance items as well?

Yes, the fact that these cars are some what hard to come by make them that much more special and fun to own. I would suggest draining and filling your transmission with fresh fluid. Jaguar says that the trans is "sealed for life" but we all know that is not true. This will insure your trans is in top working order and prevent any future issues.

Does it have a trans filter? Or will just a drain & fill be good? Also what about spark plugs? Do these cars come with iridium or just a platinum plug? And what is oil change intervals? Every 5k?

Iridium NGK NFR5N10, 100K miles.
10K for oil.
Trans is the awkward bit - have a read of the HowTos. Not vital to change immediately but plan soonish.

Question for those of you with mods! Do you run a stage colder spark plug with your performance mods? Intake, pulley, exhaust, and or nitrous??? Just curious because in my past with certain cars I have owned the more mods I had it was crucial to run 1 degree colder spark plug for detonation/spark knock reasons...

Man the best mod I can do with my STR is to run it in cold weather.

32F is cold for Houston but the car is in power heaven!!

We'll get down to about 7 degrees tonight and both our Jaguars would love a good romp first thing in the morning. But with a couple inches of snow on top of about a half-inch of ice that came down last night, neither Jaguar is going anywhere anytime soon. Too many morons out there who think they know how to drive on ice, and the local morning newscasts showed plenty of them stuck in the ditches and smashed into each other....

Hey, I don't know about you guys, but my 4.2L sure takes a while to crank and fire in this weather.

pab - it shouldn't so it's a puzzle, might be best in a new thread

Wuzupez - the OE plugs seem fine (as in: reliable, trouble-free). I don't think anyone with mods has found any reason to deviate from them
