Default question about jump starting

Hey guys. I am new to this forum and have recently bought a 2001 4.0 s-type. I was wondering how would Ijump start the car if I ever needed to. I know you cannotuse the negative ground on the battery. It seemsI am also missing the ground metalrod that holds the spare tire in place. Any suggestions where to ground it??????

whitestype, the reason why you cannot use the negative terminal is quite clear. First of all, where is your battery? In the trunk. Next, where is your fuel door/tank? Right below the battery. Using the negative terminal will cause a spark and ignite your gas tank on fire.

Put the terminals on the S-type first. No spark created.

wow, that's a good point. i was thinking the same thing whitestype was...should work if you put the jumper cables on the battery terminals in the trunk first...now what happens if you're jumping another jag? flag someone else down!
