Hi everyone, I got a quick question about the alarm of my S-Type's alarm, (it's an '01, 3.0 v6, full options). Whenever I lock/unlock the car (the alarm gets activated too) the alarm doesn't honk or makes any kind of sound to tell me that it is activated. At the beginning I thought that it was normal maybe but then I saw my friends' s-type, exactly the same, and it does honk when he it gets activated.
Do you know if there's some kind of a way to activate this?

Hi Ioan,
I had the same thing on my car. It is an option. A trip to your local indy and you can get the alarm chirp turned on, at the same time you could also get it scanned.
Even cheaper if you can find some one with diagnostic package.

 

ok, thanks for the answer yep, I guess I'll do that, btw do you know if it's possible to like buy the things needed to do what they'll do at the dealer? cause the closest jag dealer is at like 2 hours away so yeah...

In the UK these things the dealers use are extremely expensive and in my opinion, not worth the money unless you are a serious tweaker.

 

oh ok, I was hoping maybe they'd be the price of a code reader or something well I guess I'm gonna have to do 2 hours trip then :P
