Hello, I’m not sure if anyone with an STR has ever dealt with this. I have a 03’ Jaguar S type R, seems like I have a lemon because no one else even has my issues.

At around 10-15MPH I feel the bottom of my car shudder or rattle for about a second and then goes away once I pass 15MPH. This feeling then resurfaces at around 35-40MPH and it’s consistent. Everytime it’s those 2 ranges.

I’m making a post because today.. at 70MPH I heard a strange noise from the gearbox, I can’t quite describe it because it’s the first time I heard. I didn’t feel it in the car but I heard it.

I’m positive it’s not tires or bent rim, I just got newly fitted tires as well as a wheel alignment the next day.

Since I’ve had the car, I’m not sure what was done before I had it but I’ve never changed any tranny oil or rear diff oil. I’m going to have it looked at by a mechanic but I felt it was right to come here and ask the rear professionals. I also have NO lights. Only a ABS fault but that’s been there for over a year since I lowered the car.

Has the gearbox been serviced? ZF recommend replacing the pan/filter and fluid every 60,000km or after five years.

 

No, I’ve never got it serviced. You’re speaking of the oil pan filter??

also can you link me to the correct fluid I need. Please I’m doing my best I keep this car. I don’t want to be the guy who gives up and sells it
