Default Re: Bilstein Shock Rebuilds

Today I spoke with Bilstein NC about having my shocks rebuilt. They won't rebuild the OEM shock, they will only rebuild their own aftermarket shocks.

I spent some time digging around this site and found several comments that stated Bilstein would do this for cheaper than buying new shocks. True, but not true with regard to OEM shocks. Instead of finding and commenting on every thread with this misleading info, I decided to just make a new thread.

hello and goodbye $1400 plus.......

This is directly opposite of what Bilstein has said before?

Did you call the center in California? I would not waste anytime with the local guys as this is not very well known.

I would call these guys instead. Yes they also do the OEM ones.
But maybe we don't have Bilstein as stock equipment? I thought we did but I did not see any markings on the struts.

I clicked your link-

Aftermarket Damper Services
Standard Aftermarket Damper Rebuild Service (Complete rebuild of most O.E. Fitment, BILSTEIN products only)

What they told me today correlates with that page statement -- They consider the OEM to "Jaguar" and will not service them. As we can see in that statement from their page, they do "Bilstein" shock rebuilds. EG Aftermarket shocks.
