Default Injector Rebuild Kits?

Hi all,

I am wanting to clean and rebuild my injectors (the DIY way).

Does anyone have a recommendations for a vendor for the parts?

I found this guy but it is for the earlier model, are they the same?

Can't answer your question, and certainly understand if you are interested in DIY for the enjoyment, but just an FYI.... there are several guys around that completely rebuild, refinish and flow test injectors for less than $20 per injector. So if it about saving $$, you probably won't save a lot doing it yourself, and you may not know if you really made anything better.

There is a Jaguar specific fella I've seen recommended here, and a lot of the owners in the GM 3800 communities like Mr Injector - Home

.

Hi SD96XJ6L,

I used a kit like this for the injectors in our '93, which are very similar to the Bosch/Lucas plate-type double-orifice injectors in the X300. Note that the kit to do all six injectors is only $17.50 with free shipping, compared to the other kit you found at $7.50 per injector:

You might send the seller the part number on your injectors and see if he can confirm that this kit will work for you. My guess is that your injectors are Lucas part number D3156KA (Jaguar part number DBC10423), and if so, the kit will work for you.

Here's more info about XJ40 & X300 injectors than I ever wanted to know but was forced to learn (long story):

And here are photos showing how I cleaned our injectors at home, with excellent results. As I repeatedly operated each injector with my rig, I could literally watch the spray pattern improve until the fuel was atomizing again. As a result, our fuel economy improved nearly 2 mpg (under careful test conditions over the same 60.0 mile route). The only tricky part of the whole process is getting the old filter baskets out of the injectors. The photos show the simple puller I devised with a couple dollars worth of common hardware:
