Default Rear Brake Help

Hello All,

Long time since I last posted. Doing some suspension work involving removing brake caliper. I invertently applied the parking brake with caliper off rotor. Piston seems to have come out a long way to the point of leaking fluid. How to return to normal position? I push to release parking brake but it does not retract piston. Do I rotate piston clockwise or counter-clockwise? Should I open bleed valve?Any help appreciated. 2006 3.0

Thanks

You need the "cube" tool or the "free" rental tool from any big box auto parts store tobturn piston I believe clockwise back into caliper.

Went to local autoparts store and rented a suitable caliper compression tool. Did the job in 5 mins. I had struggled unsucessfully with a cube tool I had. I could not apply enough compression force wiith that. So all good. Thank you for the reply.

Yea I had the "cube" for a while too! Same result - A lot of frustration and using the right tool is WAY better!
