Default Rear wing opinions

I've always thought the S-Type trunk line needed a little something to break the downward sloping curve.

I love the STR's OEM wing, but since I have STR wheels, I really don't want to add the wing, because I don't want to make it look like it's just pretending to be an STR, when it's not.

So I've come to two other possibilities, plus the uber expensive veliside wing at the end. My car is silver...

First this wing:

OR a simpler "M3" Style stick on lip...

I LOVE this Veliside wing, but information seems to be scarce. $450 + shipping + painting, it's expensive, and I don't know if it has to be molded into the trunk lid.

Opinions / ideas welcome.

M3 version would be my choice between the 2 non-Veliside options. A little cleaner, similar to OEM but not the same. I've never been a fan of the bridged style wings.

The Veliside is a nice looker, not too much, but enough to be a presence.

Of course the ultimate solution, which I know you have discussed...is to, ya know, get an STR...

I would go for the M3 style spoiler for the S type. That first pic of the rear spoiler is hideous! George are you interested in buying an STR?

I'm working on that..

BUT I'm still not sure I want to sell the 3.0 regardless. It may end up with a family member.

I think the M3 wing might be the way to go. "Jr. STR" wing LOL...

Take care,

George

+1.

Just pull the GD trigger already. Why would you want to have two S-types?

I'm look at a car this weekend Bob, the search has begun, but it's independent of my decision on my current car.

Do I want 2 S-Types? Not really. But is it worth giving a way a perfectly sorted car with all the stuff I have in it for what it would probably bring?

V/S keeping it around as a daily driver and keeping the miles off my STR?

I'm not looking to make a fortune off my current S, but I'd rather sell or even give it to a family member who I know will appreciate it and take care of it, than just give it away.

Take care,

George

I like the veliside in the last picture....alot. Small lips really dont make that much of a difference, at least I dont think it does on the STR, or maybe Im just used to it.

If I were you I'd get something like this:

You could always buy the STR for the spoiler and since you already have the STR just keep it. Works out in the end. LOL

I actually really like your wing...

Funny thing is Rick (JoycesJag) has the stick on M3 wing... The post 05 STR's had a much less aggressive wing than the 03-04's, mostly due to the trunk redesign.

2003-2004:

2005+:

I can get the OEM 2003-2004 wing pretty affordably, but I don't know if I want to run an STR wing on a non STR.

That veliside wing is really awesome, but Prob $700 when all is said and done (assuming it doesn't have to be molded).

Take care,

George

Crap, should have bought our 2005 this year! With all the after market Fel-Pro gaskets and now the E-bag deal, we would have saved a few hundred bucks........ RATS

When you go to put it on call me I have a few secrets that makes it look PROFESSIONAL!
