Hi Guys..... 2001 S-type V6 3.0. I bought this cheaply knowing the issues and now all fixed, except for one. I spent out on a new remote key as the car only came with one non remote.
The new key will not pair with the car... i have tried all ways even watching you tube vids ... but to no avail. I know that the car should sound when ready to pair, but it does not even peep, chime or make any sound.
Can anyone shed any light on what could be wrong. The key is new with programming and new battery at a cost of £195.

Sounds like you need IDS/SDD (or WDS).
