Default Removing Wing Off Of S Type R

Want to remove my spoiler from my STR. Was wondering if anyone has done this?

Cool

Seriously.

The trunk lid for an STR has holes in it specifically for the spoiler. Fill the holes with left over pasta. No one will notice...

I hate to tell you this searanch but your spoiler is still on so all that work and it didnt even pay off. LOL. Looks like way more work then I want to take on but I was curious what it would look like. I've always liked the looks of certain cars that you always see with a spoiler without one. IE STI's, Mustang GT's, EVO's, all these look pretty sharp with there spoilers removed.

You could buy a regular S-Type trunklid, hopefully the same color as your STR and just swap them out for a different look. This isn't the cheapest alternative though. By the time you finish messing with the mounting holes there may not that much of a difference in cost.

A friend of mine has an STI and he just got on the boards and found someone nearby with a regular WRX without a spoiler with the same paint color as his. He met up with him and they just switched and he got it done for free. Just remember if you go this route there will be a little bit of work cause you will have to change your key locks over so you will still have the same key all around. Also dont forget your plates.

CCJAGtyper, what's the matter with you brother? Ya don't want yer STR to look like a STR? Ya wanna do the "stealth STR" thingy? Well why didn't ya say so? LOL! Just ribbing ya bro. Carry on....

Perhaps ya might consider replacing it with one from a '69 Dodge Daytona and jack the rear end up. Replace the wheels with 22's with gold centers. Light the underneath up with lights that change color every 5 seconds. Nice...

If ya do make the swap I would take the STR spoiler off your hands and put it on my Cadillac Deville winter beater. Ya know, bling the sucker up a little for the homies...

You guys are funny. I'm wasn't saying I was going to do it just curious. Sometimes I look at my 03 STR and wonder if it would give it a cleaner look without the spoiler. Even though we know it's stock sometime it looks like a spoiler that shouldn't be there. I've had a STI and wanted to take the wing of that car too. I didn't realizer there were holes so thanks for that info.

CCJagyper, we're just ribbin ya man. Today all it took was three spiked egg nogs to transform me into a very silly man (the truth). Kidding aside...I'd leave the spoiler on cause if ya check out a non STR S-Type (Am I phrasing this properly?) you'll see a less muscular car. The STR's rear deck spoiler is to a...how can I convey this properly...a muscle shirt?

Here is my muscle shirt. Sorry couldn't get one with the spoiler in it so we could both be showing our muscles.

Just heads up vance, some of the mods and admin don't like photos such as these

A few of us were having fun and got "spanked" for adding something like this. Again just a heads up.
