Default reoccurring misfire

I keep having a misfire show up on my scanner. I've changed the plug, coil, injector and pigtail but still get an intermittent misfire. Any idea if this is just an electrical problem somewhere?

jagtastic is on to something. You have 6 or 8 coils.... Please check the battery too. Weak cells can still start her but not provide enough voltage/amps to supply the complex electronics.

If you have the 3.0, the most common misfire cause is the factory-installed yellow-colored IMT O-rings failing. Once replaced by the new-and-improved green-colored IMT O-rings, the issue is usually resolved....

Another common cause for misfires is a cracked or improperly-closed air filter housing. Have you or someone else opened yours lately, perhaps to change the filter? Unless you first unbolt the air filter housing from the engine bay before you open it, it is very easy to break the plastic parts and create an air leak without realizing it....

It's a 3.0 and the misfire is on cylinder 5. I have a cold air intake so the air box isn't there anymore. I can replace the cold intake with the original and see if i still get the misfire.

With the age and miles of your car you should have replaced all the coils and plugs by this time. Have they all been replaced?? Be sure and check the plug wells for oil.

They are just wear items and slowly degrade over time.

Be sure and follow the above recommendations. The V-6 has a list of unique problems. Mainly with vacuum leaks and the IMT o-rings.

The good thing is it's all pretty minor and if you DIY it's not very expensive.

Leaking vacuum hose? Search will get you others who've had that and details.

I went back in this past weekend and changed my vac hoses, lower breather hose, coils/plugs, IMT rings and I noticed that my pigtails on my fuel injectors are loose and a few of the clips are broken so I bought some pigtails to replace and that seemed to do the trick.
